Follow these instructions to solve issues around installing/running your old AutoCAD LT 2007 on newer versions of 64bit Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10
So i would still uninstall AutoCAD, uninstall.NET 2.0 if its installed, install the latest version of.NET, then install AutoCAD 2007 and see if it detects that.net is installed, otherwise if there is no.NET or it thinks its the wrong version it will attempt to install the version on the disc. The Windows update likely installed.NET 4.7, which doesn't play well with AutoCAD. This is a widespread and ongoing issue affecting all Autodesk products.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Autodesk no longer supply License Activation codes. Once you have installed your AutoCAD (following the instructions below) you will need to authorize/activate your AutoCAD yourself, find out how by clicking here
How to install AutoCAD LT 2007
- Obtain your purchased copy of the Longbow Converter here
- Start the Longbow Converter tool
- Insert your AutoCAD LT 2007 CD into your CDRom drive
- select the 2nd tab named 'Old AutoCAD Installer Reviver'
- Using the '…' button, path the to your AutoCAD 2007 CD
- Click 'Run Old Installer'
- Read and follow all the prompts
- Once the AutoCAD LT 2007 setup starts, stop and read the next step…
- In the setup program, navigate through each setup dialog as normal, with these exceptions…
- When you click the Install link from your setup you may see a dialog box appear saying – 'This program has compatibility issues' – simply check the 'Don't show this message again' and then click the 'Run the program without getting help' button
- When you arrive at the installation folder path setup dialog, **it's vitally important to make sure you install to c:acadlt2007 (not Program Files (x86)AutoCAD LT 2007)**.
- Now simply reboot your PC and run your AutoCAD as normal
- NOTE: When starting AutoCAD, if you see a warning dialog when you run saying 'This program has known compatibility issues', simply click 'Don't show this message again' and then click 'Run the Program…'
- Copy the autocadlt2007sp1.exe to folder path c:Autodesksp
- Start the Converter, select the 3rd tab, pick the c:Autodesksp folder and click Fix.
- Now you can run the autocadlt2007sp1.exe from Windows explorer and install normally.
- Next install sp2 just below…
- Copy the autocadlt2007sp2.exe to folder path c:Autodesksp
- Start the Converter, select the 3rd tab, pick the c:Autodesksp folder and click Fix.

Troubleshooting
– If you are unable to activate your product, or the activation process crashes:
- Try uninstalling the July 2014 Microsoft security update
- Perhaps you have a SATA drive – Activation problems with AutoCAD 2006 and AutoCAD 2007

- Running an update
- Installing or starting AutoCAD
- Attempting to access the Quick Access Toolbars
- Attempting to use a tool that opens a dialog box, palette, or ribbon
The symptoms can range from an all-out crash to issues with specific AutoCAD functions.
For example, you may be:
- Unable to undock some of your palettes or expand lists within dialog boxes (such as the list of layers in the Layer Properties panel)
- Missing some of the icons on your ribbons, or missing some ribbons altogether
- Random crashes
- Inability to launch or install at all
- Seeing a Fatal exit error message
- Unable to launch AutoCAD help docs from F/X CAD 2017
Cause
The Windows update likely installed .NET 4.7, which doesn't play well with AutoCAD. This is a widespread and ongoing issue affecting all Autodesk products.

Windows 10 usersFollow these steps if you're running Windows 10 on your computer.
Step 1: Run the Windows update.
Run the Windows update. The update should install the latest .NET framework, pushing past version 4.7.
Step 2: Verify your version of .NET
You can verify your version of .NET using the ASoft .NET Version Detector, available on the page linked here.
On that page, take care to click the arrow in a circle to the right of the the download button (pictured to the right). (That arrow is the download link.)
You'll now have a zip file named netver.zip in the location where you normally download files (often your Downloads folder or your desktop).
Double-click that file to unzip it.
You'll now have a file named .net.exe in that same location.
Double-click that file.
The Version Detector will open.
Your version of .NET will be listed to the right of Maximum version detectable by this version.
In this example, the computer has .NET 4.7.2 installed. As long as you have a version of .NET that is higher than 4.7 (such as 4.7.2), you should be able to use AutoCAD without it crashing or freezing.
Close Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 usersFollow these steps if you're running Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 on your computer.

Finally, you'll need to configure the Windows Updates utility so it doesn't reinstall the .NET update.
1. Open the Start menu, and type REGEDIT in the search box. Select the RegEdit option from the menu.
2.Back up the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the Windows Registry.
3.Right-click the following subkey:

4. Select New from the menu, then select Key.
5. Name the new key WU, which you just created. Then press Enter.

7. Type BlockNetFramework47, then press Enter.
